BERROW SUMMER TOURNAMENT 2007
Berrow Boys Junior Football Club held their annual 6-A-Side tournament on Saturday 14th July. The tournament is held annually in conjunction with the Berrow Village Fayre. This year 26 teams took part from Cheddar, Weston Super Mare, Hutton, Bishops Lydiard, Wellington, Axbridge, Nailsea and local teams Berrow and Burnbridge. The tournament was attended by over 500 people and was played on a non competitive basis. At the end of the tournament all players were presented with an engraved trophy by Karen Kennelly as a memento of their day at Berrow. In between matches players and supporters were able to enjoy the many attractions of the Berrow Village Faye which was taking place on the adjoining field.
The highlight of the day was the first ever Berrow Girls team taking place in the Under 11 girls tournament. They played teams from Wellington and Bishops Lydiard A and B. Manager Sarah Stacey said she was very proud of the teams performance as they came away with 2 wins and 1 draw. Lucy and Zoë scored 2 goals each for Berrow.

Chairman Geoff Adams thanked Karen and Martin Kennelly from the Berrow Boys under 12s team for organising the tournament. A special thank you and trophy went to the three referees Sheridan Farrow, Dan Stacey and Mark Coles who put in excellent performances.
A great day was had by all the players, parents and supporters.
